To Nourish oneself is done by promoting or sustaining life, growth, or strength.
How do we take appropriate care of ourselves and our wellbeing as well as we must in hectic times like these. We are often pulled in so many different directions, with very little time to ourselves to nourish our Bodies, Mind & Spirit. The conversation around “Self Care” can be quite scary. Listen to friends discuss their personal rituals, how we are managing and what they consider taking care of their selves.
As a society we have become far to accessible, given all of our technology and general access people have of us. When we do take time off for ourselves we often are left with a sense of guilt for not being so available or for not doing something for someone else.
When does this lack of nourishment become a problem? When you realize that your health is worth much more than any project, person, appointment or financial responsibility you have on your plate. Without our health we truly have nothing and it’s all for not.
Self-love, self-nurturing and self-care are all ways we can cultivate love for ourselves. How we can refuel ourselves when we become depleted? This is a conversation we need to be having and having and having it way more often. Before most people I have spoken with become depleted they didn’t even noticing it happening until one day they were just no longer able to continue with the status quo, they couldn’t keep up anymore. It hits us all in different ways and no one sees it coming.
Why is this conversation so important? Because how we ultimately feel about our selves reflects our self worth and how we are able to show up for not only ourselves but for others. Our perceived value is a direct reflection of how much we like & take care of ourselves.
The elements necessary for health, vitality & happiness can be found in our foods, friends, movement of our bodies and having a clear connection to the bigger picture.
