A kid-owned hockey brand from Newfoundland built for more than the scoreboard. We believe in big dreams, hard work, and the kind of hockey that gives kids something extraordinary — on the ice and long after the final buzzer.
We're Just
Getting Started
Sharkies Hockey began in late 2025. Before reaching our first full year in business, we had travelled to tournaments, created Sharkwear, sold hats and patches across Newfoundland, filled tables with the little hockey things kids love, donated Heart of the Game medals, launched a podcast, and started building a community around a different kind of hockey culture.
But the part we are proudest of cannot be measured in sales. It is watching a kid light up because someone noticed the way they showed up for their team. That is where Sharkies really began to become something.

Because there are so many ways to matter on a hockey team.
This medal might go to the player who cheers the loudest from the bench. The kid who makes the pass. The teammate who includes someone. The player who keeps going after a hard shift.
The kid who celebrates someone else's goal like it was their own. The one who brings kindness, energy, effort, sportsmanship and heart to the game.
Because sometimes the kid who makes the biggest difference to a team is not the kid whose name ends up on the scoreboard.
This season, Heart of the Game is getting even bigger. We are tripling our medal order and doubling our patches so we can bring recognition to more teams, more tournaments and more young players across Newfoundland.
Play First
Youth hockey can get serious very quickly. There are teams to make, skills to develop, camps to attend, tournaments to win and dreams to chase. We are not against any of that.
Dream huge. Work hard. Want the jersey. Want the goal. Want the big stage.
But we never want kids to forget why they started playing in the first place. Because when children genuinely love the game, maybe we give them a better chance of wanting to stay in it long enough to discover where it can take them.
At Sharkies we want kids to walk away from the game — whether it's ice hockey, ball hockey or any rink in between — feeling more confident, more courageous and more themselves. We want them to know their voice matters on the team. That their character matters. That showing up with heart is something to be proud of.
This past summer Sharkies sponsored multiple ball hockey tournaments and teams — because this belief doesn't stop at the rink boards. It travels with the game wherever kids are playing it.

Beyond
the Bench
Hosted by Hunter and Sharkies mama Tara, Beyond the Bench with Sharkies Hockey brings together conversations with players, coaches, trainers, hockey builders and interesting people from around the game.
At the centre of every conversation is one question: What would you tell your nine year old self?
We want to hear the stories behind the hockey. Where did you start? Who believed in you? What was hard? What do you wish someone had told you?
Because sometimes the best lessons hockey gives us have very little to do with hockey.

Hunter
Sharkies is Hunter's business. And that is a big part of why this matters to us.
He loves hockey. He has big dreams. And while he chases those dreams, he is also learning how to build something of his own — how to talk to people, interview guests, develop ideas, understand money, sell products, and create experiences.
He is meeting people throughout the hockey world and discovering that there are many different ways to build a life around something you love.
If hockey takes him somewhere enormous one day — incredible. But he is already building something alongside that dream.
Sharkwear™
Hockey gear with a little more personality. Sharkies started at tournament tables with hats, patches, hoodies, tees, stickers and all the little hockey treasures kids seem to find from twenty feet away.
Where Sharkies started. Hats and patches that showed up at tournament tables and made their way into rinks across Newfoundland. Limited runs, big personality.
Sweatshirts, tees, hockey gear and technical pieces for kids who play with heart and families who live the hockey life. Coastal comfort meets rink culture.
Pucks, keychains, water bottles, coffee mugs, stickers, buttons, and emotional support sharks. The little Sharkies treasures kids find from twenty feet away.
Fin Force
Fin Force is the heart of Sharkies Hockey — a community for kids and families who believe hockey should be full of heart and played for the love of the game.

Together
Sharkies Hockey is more than a brand. It's something our family built together. Hunter watched an idea become real. Duane brought his coaching experience and builder's mindset. And together, we created something from nothing — rooted in community, creativity, and care.
That spirit lives inside Sharkies. Because at the end of the day, hockey should feel like home.
What's
Ahead
Right now our focus is on growing Heart of the Game, bringing Sharkies to more tournaments, expanding Beyond the Bench, creating a better tournament experience, growing Fin Force, and continuing to make products kids actually love.
We are also developing our Sharkie character and beginning to explore a children's book.
We have lots of ideas. We are not rushing them. We are building Sharkies one good idea at a time.
