This summer is the window.
The last real pause before the world picks up speed again. The rare season where you can choose — intentionally, deliberately — to slow down before you are asked to speed up. To nourish the nervous system before it is needed. To remember who you are before the noise returns.
We almost never do this. We push through summer the same way we push through everything else. We arrive at fall emptied out, already behind, already bracing.
