September always brings a resurgence of new energy back into our lives. Maybe its the kids going back to school and the ending of our summer that creates a sense of urgency to get back on track, back into a routine and become more disciplined with our actions. I’ve been calling September the the new January for a while because for me its an excellent time of reflection, my season slows back down and so do I. I begin to prepare myself for the winter ahead. September is a beautiful time to revisit my vision board and get clear about what I’ve been working towards that no longer fits, or where I’ve already achieved what I had set out to achieve or I may be inspired to step into something fully that I’ve been wavering around.
The fall is defined by nature as the time of Harvest where we have the opportunity to harvest all the fruits of our labours to reap the benefits of the seeds that were sown in the spring that are now ripe for the picking. September brings about a subtle energy with less pressure to achieve than January does. It’s a youthful and fun time to dive back into your routine or begin a fresh start with a completely new direction.
What do you need in your life right now that you could easily incorporate to elevate your happiness? What would make you’re life simpler or less work for you?
A friend said to me that making her bed daily allowed her to feel a sense of accomplishment before her day had even begun. I thought wow really what a simple idea with such profound rewards. I’m usually a roll out of bed and get going kind of gal make it when I feel like it, but I thought I would try it to see if it made any difference in my life. It was amazing the difference I felt in attitude, productivity and my daily sense of accomplishment.
I know it may sound too simple for some of you who are already making your bed everyday but what area(s) could you put a little more attention towards? Building your gratitude muscle by writing down the three things you are grateful for daily. Appreciating 1 person everyday with a note or kind gesture. Taking time out for yourself without feeling guilty. Putting your health as priority #1. What do you need right now before we come into the season of going deep, quieting down and allowing yourself to self-nourish.
Reflect on your thoughts, connect with nature reach out to someone who inspires you and feel the new energy flowing through your veins.
